Similan Guide - News & Infos aus Südostasien und den Similan Inseln

I spent a beautiful evening at a place called Phaotoke Laoderm (www.phatokelaoderm.com) and enjoyed a nice Lao show (traditional dancing performances and music) together with some Lao meal (sticky rice, sea weed, chicken, keang som paa, naam pic with lots of vegs…).

The meal was great and very tasty and served around 7.30 pm on a big bamboo table like furniture called phatoke. The beerlao was served cold and with some ice cubes…

The performance consists of some classical royal dance pieces, such as the Hanuman monkey dance, and some very rural dances. They also showed some Hmong dance.
The costumes very very colorful and the performers had some great fun to show their skills to the rather small audience.

The Phatoke Lauderm is located within the Senglao hotel complex on the basement. The Hall is very nicely decorated and the staff is friendly, plentiful and very service minded. The place opened a month ago.

The price of 15 $ is for the entrance and for the meal. Drinks are extra.

Vize-Admiral Supoj Prueksa, Kommandeur der Dritten Flotte, sagte, dass am Freitag in der Nacht ein Schiff der Royal Thai Navy zur Rettung von 125 gestrandeten Touristen an die Similan Inseln ausgelaufen sei. • Originally nominated last week, it was removed from nomination since we are currently only featuring sites in English. Featured Text — While it seems like the majority of the WikiPages in AboutUs are in English, AboutUs is a multilingual website. While it’s often hard for us to feature pages in languages other than English, we love to feature ones that are multilingual. Well, a few weeks ago someone nominated the page for SimilanGuide.com, a German website. We left a note suggesting that they add an English translation to the page to make it easier to feature for our readers. Instead, the text was replaced in English. Obviously, that wasn’t our intent, so we reinstated the German version AND created an English page so that readers in either language can find out more this great website. SimilanGuide.com provides information and guides to scuba and skin diving the Similan Islands. If the pictures of the clear blue waters shown on the SimilanGuide.com WikiPage are any indication, claims that the Similan Islands are among the top ten dive site in the world can’t be false. Der Similan Guide ist der Erfahrungschatz aus vielen Tauchgängen an den Similan Inseln.

Um den Gästen die Tauchspots besser erklären zu können waren Karten schon immer sehr hilfreich. Nur leider gab es nicht sonderlich viele und die wenigen die es gab, wurden gut gehütet.

Irgendwann habe ich dann angefangen selber Karten zu zeichnen. Diese Karten habe ich mit den Skizzen anderen Tauchguides vergliechen, angepasst, abgeändert und weiterentwickelt. Über die Jahre ist der Inhalt und die Menge der Karten angewachsen.

Viele Gäste haben nach Kopien der Karten gefragt. Ebenso jungere Dive Guides, die noch über kein eigenes Kartenmaterial verfügten. - Der Similan Guide ist nun der digitale Versuch, das Kartenmaterial einem grösseren Publikum zur freien Verfügnung zu stellen.
